The Liturgy of Breath is a collaboration between performance artist and church musician Liv Kristin Holmberg and composer and voice artist Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer.
The concert performance takes as its starting point an ancient structure in our culture, the liturgy, and explores the possibility of illuminating, rethinking and opening up this structuring form. The Liturgy of Breathing is one of several parts of Holmberg’s overarching, long-standing exploratory project “Kunstliturgien – om kunstens grenser” (Art Liturgy – about the limits of art) – an investigation of the church room’s potential as an art arena and a test of art’s limits and place-changing power in the church room as a public space.
The Liturgy of Breath has newly written liturgical music by composer Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer.
Two performances of The Liturgy of the Breath, first in Akershus Castle Church in Oslo on 3rd of November, then in the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim on 5th of November – two fantastic buildings.
It is a great pleasure to work closely with Liv Kristin Holmberg.
Thank you for the wonderful collaboration:
